Or make one. Seems that the “grunge” themes are few and far between, so I might just have to do a couple to satisfy my craving for the retina-searing neon dirty.
On another note, there’s freaking CARDSTOCK here, which is exciting as can be! I can practice more with my coloured pencils that turn into watercolour with water! 8D
PAINTING AT WORK. HAHAHAHA
Probably shouldn’t do that, honestly. Gets quite messy and I’m not sure the boss would appreciate it.
Whatever. :P I can still draw.
Thinking I should do commissions now that I’ll have money for postage and like, good paper. Stock is nice.
I still can’t do natural media for beans, though. We’ll see.
In the world of cooking:
Made a Jewish (and yet, not kosher) coffee cake not too long ago. It included sour cream, and I regret having used it.
You see, my boyfriend’s rather picky, being that he can tell me exactly what is in a dish I set in front of him, give or take an ingredient or two. Not a supertaster, but he’s bordering on it. Sour cream was the first thing he tasted, and while he likes it in many things, a cake is not one of them.
I have to agree. I didn’t think that a coffee cake would require a whole lot of sugar, but the lack of any sweetness aside from the crumble topping left something to be desired.
Other than that, it was a good recipe and set up very well. It’s unusual for things to cook perfectly in my oven, even with my watchful eye over the whole process, since it burns so hot. The test of a sturdy recipe is my oven, if you will. So impressed am I that it rose to the occassion that I will be trying this coffee cake again, this time with vanilla yogurt and a dash more sugar than before. <3
I’ve also aquired an amazing “Chicken Stuff” recipe from a friend on Y!Gallery! I’m so excited to try it out, but it takes a little time, and I have had none of that for the past four days. :P I don’t know how some people work, go to school, and raise children all at the same time. After work, I read for an hour and fall fast asleep! XD
Anyway, Chicken Stuff looks FABULOUS and I’ll take pictures and document how that turns out!
Sigh. Still haven’t gotten the shipment of TP for the hotel. No, I won’t tell you who I work for. XD
I like this job. I realy do. Which is awesome, and I hope it lasts. I enjoy almost every job I go into at first, and it takes realy realy bad shit to make me grumpy at all. Working with people is what I do best, and doing paperwork isn’t a big deal, since I’ve done office work before. Just gotta make it all muscle memory.
And get some glasses. The computer monitor’s like WAY OVER on the other side of the desk ..ish. So like, everything’s a little fuzzy while I’m looking at the numbers and I have to squint. But that’s cool, a friend of mine that works at the optometrist just brought me glasses frames a little while back and now that I’m going to have *GASP* money again, I can actually PAY MY BILLS. And get the eye exam.
But I’m not getting paid until like the 23rd. Which is when I’m going out of town forever and a day.
Thailand for two weeks, baby! I need to get a little thai dictionary and a few lessons in Rosetta Stone before we make the trip, though. Might spend some time tomorrow doing that if I’m off. I hope I am, but there’s no telling. @_@;
I was so run down yesterday I didn’t think I’d be happy to come to work today. Ever have one of those nights where you haven’t slept for more than a few hours the past few, and then when you might get a chance you keep waking up after nasty dreams? Something about my childhood dog gnawing off a dolphin handler’s hand to a bloody stump and someone serving fudge made out of it.
Looked like chocolate chip to me.
BAKING AND MORBIDITY ALL ROLLED INTO ONE.
Gore is fun.
I must be a ’special cookie’. XD
You know, there’s these sanitizing wipes in a box… I’m thinking of attacking my entire desk with one. Looks kind of … grungy, here, and though that’s fine for my web pages (and my truck!) it’s uh… not so pleasant when I’m touching it all the time at work. XD Imma do that nao.
Fwee! I have exhausted all mental processes for now, but I’m sure I’ll have more to whine about later. <3
